We are an all-volunteer organization that receives no public funds. To survive and continue our mission of improving the lives of animals in the Anderson County area, we depend on the gracious donations and ​membership dues of caring people, just like you!!! The following are just a few of the volunteer opportunities we have available: Education-Public speaking, staffing educational exhibits, networking with schools, writing about humane education issues. Foster Program-Providing temporary foster care for animals in need until a home can be found. Legislative Support-Lobbying and educating local and state representatives about the need for stronger animal welfare legislation, staying informed of current legislative efforts. Fundraising - Participating in any of our fundraising events, or having your own fundraising events! Special Events - We also need help with events! Whether it's helping to walk the dogs, or taking tickets, we can always use extra help! Rescue-Providing rescue assistance to animals in need. These are just a few areas that the Humane Society has to offer.
